Marc Casas Casteis is a Catalan photographer and visual documentarian, specializing in the representation of nature from an intimate and respectful perspective. His career began in the field of visual communication, working in sectors such as fiction, events, and social documentary. However, it is in his relationship with the natural environment that he has developed a unique sensitivity, based on patient observation and minimal intervention.

One of his most significant projects is the documentary “Rancho Quemado,” filmed on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. The 19-minute film explores the complex relationship between the velvet viper and the rural communities that live alongside it. Through local testimonies and a restrained narrative, the documentary invites reflection on coexistence, fear, and biodiversity. It has been selected at international festivals such as the World Film Festival and the California Capital International Documentary Film Festival.

Marc is characterized by his ability to remain silent when facing his subject. Whether it’s a wild animal or a human character, he argues that the documentary filmmaker’s role isn’t to intervene, but to know how to disappear to allow the truth to be expressed. It’s in this invisible space, he believes, that the real story is born.
