Francesc Kirchner | Delta Photo Contest on Salvaje Fest 2025
In 1996, he founded ORYX, the Nature Lover’s Store, which has become a national benchmark in Spain for its specialization in nature. The shop is renowned for offering the most extensive natural history book selection in the country, a wide range of optical equipment and gear for naturalists, and for being a pioneer in manufacturing and importing top-quality nest boxes and garden feeders.
In 2014, he initiated the Delta Birding Festival and has served as its director. After ten editions, it has established itself as one of the most popular nature events in Southern Europe, attracting over 4,000 visitors. The festival features a broad program of talks and activities, a fair with more than 60 exhibitors, and a wild bird photography competition with prizes exceeding €10,000.
Since 2024, he has been publishing a nature magazine that explores both local and international topics. The magazine includes opinion articles, interviews, photographer portfolios, and a section dedicated to naturalist art. The visual aspect—both in content and design—plays a central role. The goal is to build a strong readership and ensure the magazine’s long-term viability.
As a passionate bird and wildlife observer, he has traveled to over 50 countries worldwide, always driven by a naturalist curiosity. This dedication has led him to observe more than 50% of the world’s bird species.
