When and where: Sunday, September 21, 12:00 pm, Ágora tent — Delta Birding Festival
The Ágora tent was filled for the presentation of Untamed Spain. The session, led by Luis Frechilla (project coordinator), drew a large audience and took place in a roundtable format alongside Virgilio Beltrán from Birdeo (another project of the Experiencias Turismo España Programme).
What we shared
We shared key data from the project’s reports and discussed how both the audience and the practice are evolving:
- Generational shift in nature photography and observation: more young people are joining the community.
- More women taking the spotlight: it is increasingly common to see women attending and photographing on their own, not just as companions.
- Accessibility and age: the importance of adapting hides for older people to ensure comfortable and safe experiences.
Presence at the fair
Además de la presentación, estuvimos en un stand compartido junto a Photo Logistics, que recibió numerosas visitas de personas interesadas en conocer y participar en el proyecto Untamed Spain / España Salvaje.
Why it matters
Our goal is to promote inclusive, responsible nature tourism with a positive impact, connecting art, conservation, and rural development. The reception at the Delta Birding Festival confirms that the sector is ready to take this leap.
