At Untamed Spain, we believe nature should be a place where everyone belongs. That’s why, together with the specialized companies Photo Logistics, Nayade Nature, and Aveshide, we have taken a step further to make our wildlife observation and photography experiences more inclusive, sustainable, and comfortable for all.
Nature without barriers: accessible and comfortable hides
One of the most important improvements we have implemented is the adaptation of several hides for people in wheelchairs. We want every nature lover, regardless of mobility, to experience observing wildlife in freedom from spaces designed for it.
Also for women: small gestures that make a big difference
In addition, we have introduced specific measures to improve the experience of women in the hides. Because yes, spending hours in a hide out in the wilderness requires certain practical solutions—and these have not always been considered.
That’s why you will now find reusable female urinals and wetsuits adapted to the female body, making the activity more comfortable and accessible, especially in extreme conditions or during long sessions.
A fairer and more human kind of nature tourism
These improvements are not just technical. They are part of a philosophy shared by everyone and every company involved in Untamed Spain: that nature tourism should be respectful of biodiversity, but also of people. Of all people.
We are striving for a model that is more accessible, more equitable, and more connected to the climatic and social reality we live in. A model that cares for the environment, but also for the visitor. One that promotes active, conscious participation without leaving anyone behind.
Funded with the support of the European Union
These improvements have been made possible thanks to the FYPNE – Fotografía y pinta la Naturaleza Española project, funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Because transforming tourism is also a way of transforming the world.
